The Real Obstacle Isn't Motivation
Most nurses who want to move up are not short of motivation. They are short of a predictable evening. Rosters change, a colleague resigns and the shift pattern shifts with them, nights come in blocks, and any course that requires you to be in the same place at the same time every week is effectively closed to you — which is why so many of these courses are taken by people who have already left the floor.
So the scheduling here is not a convenience feature. It is the design.
How the Schedule Actually Works
- Online classes. No commute, no travel time to find on either side of a shift.
- Weekend practical and case sessions at the Vyttila, Kochi campus, 300 m from Vyttila Metro, for students who can attend in person. Nurses outside Kochi — or outside Kerala — can take the course fully online.
- Every session recorded. This is the part that matters most. If you are on nights, you watch the module when you are awake. Nobody has to negotiate a roster around a class.
- Coursework and a final examination, scheduled with working candidates in mind rather than around an academic calendar.
- 3 months or 6 months — choose the load you can actually carry alongside duty.
Why Working Nurses Get More Out of It Than Students Would
This syllabus is close to useless as abstract theory and immediately useful to someone holding a unit. A module on staffing norms means nothing to a student; it means a great deal to a nurse who has been arguing for an extra post for six months and losing. A module on writing a defensible incident report is theoretical until you have written one badly.
Every case discussion in the course runs on real situations, and the working nurses in the room supply most of them. That is the strongest argument for doing it in service rather than waiting for a gap.

If You Work Outside Kerala
The course can be taken entirely online, and nurses working in other states or in the Gulf are welcome. Two things to note honestly: the weekend campus sessions at Vyttila are optional and not required to complete the course or receive the certificates; and Treneywann’s 100% Placement Assurance applies within Kerala only, where its hospital network is. Outside Kerala the commitment is Placement Assistance — application preparation, interview practice and referrals where we have contacts. We say so plainly because an institute promising guaranteed placement in a city it has no network in is not being straight with you.
Stated plainly: this is not MSc Nursing and not an Indian Nursing Council qualification. It does not change your clinical registration and does not by itself make anyone a Nursing Superintendent. It is an administration and management training for nurses, with two certificates including a UGC-approved university skill certification, that prepares you for the administrative half of charge, supervisory and superintendent roles.
