Artificial General Intelligence (AGI) – AI that can do any intellectual task a human can – is no longer science fiction. It is an engineering deadline. Here are my thoughts on what this means for humanity.

The Exponential Curve

We are not thinking linearly; technology moves exponentially. Today's models are smart; tomorrow's models will be wise.

Implications

  • Economy: The marginal cost of cognitive labor will drop to zero.
  • Science: AGI will solve protein folding, fusion energy, and climate change.
  • Risk: Control and alignment become the most important problems in history.
